Engineering Career Sector Lecture with TFL at the London Transport Museum Acton Depot

On 24 November 2016, Careers Advisers and Teachers from the Central Careers Hub network attended the Engineering Career Sector Lecture organised by TFL and CCH at the London Transport Museum Acton Depot.
We heard about:
• The huge range of apprenticeships on offer through TFL (not just engineering ones) and their plans for growing the number of apprentices.
• The experiences of TFL Engineering and Technology Apprentices and Graduates.
• The TFL recruitment process
• TFL early years employability programmes for schools

When Careers Advisers and Teachers signed up for the recent Engineering Career Sector lecture with Central Careers Hub and TFL they were asked:

“As a Careers Adviser or Teacher how comfortable do you feel about explaining careers in engineering?”
The responses were:
• Very comfortable 5%,
• Comfortable 26%,
• Uneasy 69%

When we asked them the same question at the end of the Engineering Career Sector lecture with Central Careers Hub and TFL the responses were:
