Let’s Celebrate Technicians
4th July 2019-10:00 am - 12:30 pmFree
Technical roles involve using scientific, technological and/or engineering skills to make, operate, analyze or fix things for others. These jobs are often well-paid, interesting and valued, but their lower profile means that students aren’t necessarily aware of careers in this area. They are ideal for people who are inquisitive, practical, problem solvers, and the routes into these roles are varied, with opportunities for entry at a range of levels.
Come along to the Crick to hear how technicians at the Crick are vital to our work. From entry-level apprenticeships supporting the laboratory and engineering teams or looking after our animals, to PhD-qualified professionals managing cutting edge scientific equipment for international research projects, technicians are key to the success of our organization. And it’s not just us; from SMEs to corporate giants, over a million people in the UK are employed in technical roles.
As well as hearing from Crick staff involved with recruiting a range of technical roles, you will have the opportunity to delve deeper into the technicians work environment in our Craft and Graft exhibition, have a Q&A with technicians from across the institute, and learn more about the resources available for raising awareness of technical careers.
By registering for this event you are agreeing that Central Careers Hub can share your registration details with Francis Crick Institute.
